Safety Policy

Houston Controls, Inc. (HCI) will comply fully with the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.

HCI fosters and maintains a Corporate Safety Culture which consists of the following elements:

  1. Compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
  2. Training for all personnel, both supervisory and craft, to ensure that they understand their role in supporting the HCI Safety Culture, and have basic skills in recognizing and countering hazards in the workplace.
  3. Involvement of all workers in providing for their own safety through participation in the training, programs and methods used in the various worksites.
  4. Support and reinforcement of the HCI Safety Culture from the Officer level to the hourly worker level.
  5. Employment of trained, effective leaders and Safety professionals in positions responsible for furthering the safety and training of employees.
  6. Taking vigorous, timely and appropriate action when hazards are recognized, to protect employees and provide a workplace, whether in the Client’s facility(s) or HCI’s facility(s), that is free from recognized hazards. HCI uses the employing site’s safe work practices and procedures as they pertain to HCI employees’ work. However, if a procedure or practice is noted to be absent or deficient, HCI will cooperate with the employing site to implement enhanced safety practices.
  7. Timely investigation and follow-up action, if and when an accident or injury is sustained, that will prevent recurrence.

Establishment of a safe workplace is recognized as a pre-condition to allowing any work to begin or continue. The safety of each employee is recognized to be of paramount importance in reckoning the success of the corporation.
